Trashy Tuesday!

Happy Trashy Tuesday! Yup, it's Trashy Tuesday on RES-Q-Challenge blog! That Jacqueline has a fabulous (and Trashy!) challenge for today! Use an off-color or "trashy" sentiment on your card. I just got these cute old guys and the sentiment today from a swap and thought he would be perfect! I know a couple of cranky old guys I could give this card to....

VSN Weekend!

So I didn't get a chance to actually play along live with VSN this weekend but I did do some catch up yesterday! Here's a few things I did:

This was for Michelle's challenge to use a frame on your card:
This was for Latisha's challenge to make 2 of the same card:

This was for Sara's challenge to make a card using only red, black and white:

This was for Peggy's challenge to use a grid technique and some spongeing:

This was for Shannon's challenge to be inspired by food or a non-alcoholic drink:
This was for Taylor's "suitcase" challenge...SO many things to fit on ONE card!

SO that's it for now...all the details are on the links in my SCS gallery (I was in a rush this morning and didn't have time to list them here, sorry!)

Have a great week!

RES-Q-Challenge #9

Today's RES-Q-Challenge was hostessed by our very first Guest! Helen (aka LUCY'S MOM on SCS) challenged us to make a card using our most treasured tool (I used my Making Memories Precision Paper Cutter, I could not LIVE without it!) and my ATG gun. We also had to use the color green and honor the person who does the lawn mowing. Fabulous challenge, thanks so much for joining us this week Helen!

Here's my sample:

recipe: stamps- Gina K My Cuppa Joe, Unity April KOTM
paper- Basic Grey Lime Rickey, old olive, kiwi kiss, PTI white
Ink- Memento black, copic markers
accessories- sheer ribbon

RES-Q-Challenge #8

Hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day! My family was over for a BBQ and we had a wonderful fun and relaxing day!
The challenge today at RES-Q-Challenge is to be inspired by a gift or card you received or gave for Mother's Day. I was inspired by the set of mugs my kiddies gave me (mostly because it has been in front of me all morning!)

Here is one of the mugs:

Here is my card:

recipe: stamps- SU Congrats...  paper- only orange, PT white...  ink- pumpkin pie...  accessories- corner rounder, ribbon

and here they are together!

The ribbon on the card was used to attach the gift card to the bag of mugs (by my uber talented soon to be 6 year old daughter, LOL).

Thanks for looking...have a wonderful week!

another for Jacqueline

OK Jacq! I usually don't throw away toilet paper or paper towel rolls because I give them to my DS's school. So I didn't think of this as garbage right away! I made these windsocks with the toilet paper rolls and scrap ribbon! I found directions here. I was hoping DD's girls scouts could do this as a project but the year just got away from us. Give it a try though, it's a fun project to do with your kids!

recipe: All scrap paper and ribbons used here...plus a button, punched flowers and of course the toilet paper roll!

Thanks for looking!

Trashy Tuesdays?

Only Jacqueline could get away with this one! Trashy Tuesdays are the newest weekly challenge on RES-Q Challenge Blog! Every Tuesday Jacqueline will give us a new "trashy" challenge!

This week we were to use something we would normally have thrown in the garbage and use it on a card or project! I saved this store-bought card (ahem, there ARE such things?) and used it as DP. It is very shimmery IRL. I even stamped the butterfly on a scrap of it and cut it out. I actually love this look! Makes mw wish I hadn't thrown away all the store-bought cards I got for my birthday! Thanks for saving this one Jacq!

recipe: stamps- Unity April KOTM
paper- DP from store-bought card, wild wasabi, soft sky
accessories- ribon, rhinestones

Thanks for stopping by! See you next week!

RES-Q Challenge #7...

Well this week on RES-Q-challenge it's MY turn to  hostess! Our May theme is FRESHLY CUT so all I could think of at this time of the year is Freshly Cut.....MEAT!

My challenge was to use any technique that looks like Marbleing (like how a good cut of meat has delicious "marbling,"  get it?)....

For my sample, I used my favorite technique...Shaving Cream! Something about the smell afterwards always makes me happy! Weird! I used an outrageous color combo of tempting turquoise, pixie pink and wild wasabi but I am loving the outcome!

recipe: stamps- Unity Mix Up of Cuteness
paper- tempting turquoise, pixie pink, glossy white, PTI white
ink- tempting turquoise, pixie pink wild wasabi, palette noir, copic markers
accessories- ribbon, chipboard tag, square rhinestones

Thanks for stopping by! Don't forget Jacqueline will be kicking off our new Tuesday challenge tomorrow...should be a ton of fun!

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!

Ok, sorry it's a day late but I was without electricity ALL DAY yesterday! But Miss G and I managed to get out to my LSS yesterday morning while the boys went to T-Ball and picked up a few goodies...

I managed to do this layout Friday night for one of the sketch challenges for Unity Stamps Anniversary. This one os for the Guest Designer KOTM Challenge.

recipe: paper: PP by American Crafts, Cardstock- SU Tangerine Tango textured, tempting turquoise, yo yo yellow
stamps: Unity April KOTM, creating keepsakes foam stamps (title)
ink: white craft, black, tempting turquoise, yo yo yellow, tangerine tango
accessories: chipboard by colorbok, white gel pen, clear EP

Here is a close up of the detail on the chipboard. I covered it with white craft ink then stamped over it with the swirl fromt he KOTM and tempting turquoise ink. Then I covered it with clear EP and heat set!

Hope you had a great day! I hope to continue today since I got cheated yesterday! Thanks for stopping by!
