stamp a stack

Here are the cards we did at our last stamp a stack:

I saw this on another blog but I forgot to write down who! If this darling mummy card was yours origiopnally, I am sorry I didn't give you props! But everyone loved it!
This one (the horrible picture) was done with the faux postage stamp technique. The girls were a little scared at first but when they saw how easy it was they jumped right in and loved it!
this one was done with the coffee filter technique. It was really easy (even if it was a little messy) and everyone always likes easy! Cool thing was everyone put a different sentiment on it...it was very versatile!

This one came to be because I had ordered too much Pumpkin pie CS! Again, everyone used a different sentiment!

So, if you like what you see and would like to join us for our next Stamp a Stack, it will be on November 9 and we will be doing ALL Holiday/Seasonal ones! Please RSVP to me or Toni!

gift workshop projects

Ok well, here are all the projects we will be offering for our Holiday Gift Workshop on December 2nd! Only $40 and you can make all these beautiful creations to give away as gifts or keep for yourself!
First is the stamped candle, I know, you saw this already but here it is again! With it are a covered matchbox and coaster.
Next is an a multi-purpose box. I say multi-purpose because it can fit a gift card, jewelry, set of greeting cards (4/14 X 5 1/2) or any other small item. This is a side view...
And a view of the top! Don't ya love this snowman! You can't tell from the picture but it is very sparkly...
Next is a set of 4 tile coasters. This snowglobe set is awesome! There is cork on the back too so you won't ruin any tabletops!
And finally, an ornament and matching envelope so you can even mail this one! Can you believe this guy used to be a regular ol' CD?! PS Also sparkly, darn camera...
So, that's it! I hope to get a lot of you to come out on December 2nd for this fun workshop! No experience or supplies necessary! Please e-mail or call for more info...

yikes!

Ok, so I know it's been a loooong time since I posted last but I was working on revamping some things....ok ok, I just didn't have anything to post! Well, in my defense, we painted literally every room in my house in a week and a half so it's not like I was sitting her doing nothing! I'm also off for another round of pain injections this weekend...but....

GOOD NEWS!

I was chosen to be a Guest Designer on one of my favorite blogs...Bitten by the Bug. It's a blog dedicated to the Cricut and all it's little family members! Check out the site for an awesome contest to win a Cuttlekids machine! Yes, it is a die cut machine for kids! How cute! You so need to add this blog to your daily haunts...Regina has such an awesome gallery and design team!
The first challenge I participated in was to use the George cartridge to make this Monogram card. I finally got to use some of my newest Basic Grey paper (Perhaps) and went for a simple look. Added SU Purely Pomegranate CS, true thyme, WW, some purplish mesh, primas, eyelets and VIOLA!

We'll be having a Stamp a Stack on October 19th, so I promise to post those up here soon. And of course, I am a guest designer for the month so I'll be getting a new challenge every week...I soooo can't wait to show you! Thanks for looking everyone! XOXO

Help for Faith (Markie'sMom)

My VSN friend Faith on SCS was having trouble posting a link for her tutorial so I figured I'd try to post it here and see if people could view it at all...who knows if it will work but we'l give it a try...
Here is her link with pictures
http://stampinwithmarkiesmom.blogspot.com/search/label/Spray%20and%20Smash

and directions but without pictures...

"I developed this technique about 10 years ago. I had wanted an NON-uniform look of mottled color and got this effect! Wow!This technique is very easy. You will need:5-10 sheets of Glossy Card StockSpray bottle of WATERReinkers (I used Tempting Turquoise and Close to Cocoa)Newspapers or covering for your work arearubber gloves (until you get the hang of this...!)First, SPRAY the "Base Sheet" with water.Next INK by dribbling reinkers onto the sheet..Next, SPRAY a "pressing sheet" with water. Then, SMASH the pressing sheet onto the base sheet.Use PRESSURE!Pull the sheets apart and start again with a NEW pressing sheet.SPRAY the new pressing sheet and Smash it onto the base sheet. You can do this up to 10 times and get variations on the colors. This makes AWESOME background paper!"

stamp a stack

Just wanted to share some cards from out Friday night Stamp a Stack! This week we had a choice between 6 different cards (they picked 4 designs=8 cards) Here are a few:
For the sunflower card I tried watercoloring (sorta)...We used watercolor paper and sprayed the stamp after it was inked to create a watercolor effect.

This was my first attempt with Baroque Basics...I kept it without a sentiment so the girls could use it for almost any occasion.

This one used the Cuttlebug embossing folder, then we sanded the top to make the distressed look. I always love red, white and black together!

Thanks for Looking! More to come!

im a baddd blog mommy!

I know, I haven't posted anything substantial in a while but everything I have been working on has been super secret squirrel VSN stuff! That's Virtual Stamp Night on Splitcoaststampers for anyone saying "huh?" I have also been working on things for my cousin's wedding (which I can't post yet cause she may be reading my blog!) So....here are a few things that are not for VSN or the wedding:

I finally got to make a round layout! The sketch is from pagemaps and all the paper, ribbons and rub-ons are from a TLC kit. The flowers are Primas. The "Smile" title was done on my Cricut with the Mini-Monograms cartridge.

This is also from a TLC kit, the title is done with Cricut Stamped cartridge and the stamps are Technique Tuesday. The tag behind the last picture has journaling.

The paper for this one is Close to my Heart, white "talk" letters are MM, and other title letters done on my Cricut with the Jasmine cartridge.

And, since I showed my cousin this already, here is a box I altered for her to use for envelopes at the wedding. I found this velvet paper in Michael's and the black paper also...The birdies I just thougt were cute but they can come off... It's really cool IRL

tagged!

ACK! I've been tagged by Jen at Inking Along. I thought we ran through this whole tagging thing but...oh well...here's 7 random things about me:

1. I was a Paramedic in Manhattan for 8 years, in Harlem and Washington Heights (and yes, I was there on 9/11) .

2. Me and my DH met originally in 1998 but I ignored him for a year (I had a rule never to date a cop, which he was), then gave in and after one date I knew I would marry him...we were engaged 6 months later!

3. When I was first pregnant and were thinking of names we secretly hoped it would be twins, a boy and a girl we were going to name Luke and Leia (me and DH are super BIG Star Wars freaks).

4. I totally hate my first scrapbook and want to re-do it (but haven't because other people have said "isn't it cool to see how you have evolved in your art?"- yeah but I still hate it!)

5. I went to Catholic School for 12 years and 4 of them were an all-girls school!

6. I am scuba certified, but haven't been diving since my honeymoon 6 years ago...sad, sad, sad!

7. I am a die hard Barry Manilow fan...I've seen him in concert about 15 times (don't tell anyone, ok?)

So that was pretty painless...the problem is taggin people who haven't been tagged yet...I'll have to go fishin' tomorrow! For now have a few laughs and I'll be back later!

Oh and just because I can't leave you hanging with no pretty pictures to look at.....here's some:

This mini album was made with an actual pair of flip flops! We will be making this in one of our August craft days so stay tuned!
