How cute...maybe she'll let me post a pic soon....I was trying for a collage look with all my new papers I got in Florida...thanks for looking!

Back in NY

So, we got back from Florida on Thursday and what a busy weekend we had! No crafting done at all (even though I went shopping in a LSS in Boca!)...so sad! But, here is something fun....
I made these frames at my Mother-In-Law's upline's workshop in Florida....
I just loooove the shells...of course that set is retiring, think I may have to get it!
Oh, yes....they will be the next project for an upcoming workshop in August! Stay tuned for dates, me and Toni are close to confirming all the dates for the summer!

Oh, one more thing to share....this cactus was a tiny clipping that I took from our old house 3 years ago...every year I get more and more flowers! It's awesome! Enjoy the week everyone!

my morning coffee

So, every morning I sit with my coffee as my kids watch some morning TV and stalk some other blogs! First one is Allison's Stampin' when I can because she gives a great synopsis of who's got a tutorial and who is giving away blog candy. She is an awesome blogger!

Then I stop in and visit all the blogs mentioned, enter some contests and save some cards to favs. Here is another great contest you may want to enter by Trish,
http://misstrish.blogspot.com/2007/06/blog-candy-redraw.html she is giving away a whole mess of stuff (US only).

And I found this awesome tutorial by Lindsay to use a slit punch to make a scalloped circle!
Some people are so inventive!

And finally here is the masterpiece (yeah right) I made for my cousin's shower this weekend. My mom was going to spend $45 plus $25 2 day delivery to buy one of these on line. I said let me try to make it first and she liked it so there you go. Saved about $50!

And here is the card I made from me...have a great week!

featured stamper 17

I really like this challenge on SCS...the featured stamper. You use the featured stamper's gallery as inspiration basically. You are allowed to change some things but basically it is a"case"ing (that means copying in stamper lingo). I chose this gorgeous card http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/526618?cat=500&ppuser=66702

but I don't think I did it justice!

One thing I realized is that I don't have ANY butterfly stamps! How is that possible! This was the only one and I don't really like it much! Well, I'm crossing my fingers for the new Stampin' Up catty to have at least ONE set!

waiting for rain...

Well, we are sitting around here waiting for the terrible storm to hit. We are supposed to get hit bad but so far nothing but sun! Let's hope it stays for a bit, DD has a birthday party at a farm (don't know what they would do if it rains). Then I have to start putting away the 7 loads of laundry I did yesterday! YES, 7! Then I hope to do some stamping...still have to do the teacher's gifts! But in the meantime, here I am surfing through some blogs...
Here is a great contest for you...and she has a great blog as well! Take a look and you could win a $25 gift card to Joann's...The Wooden Porch: Contest: $25 JoAnn Fabrics Gift Card
And, one more card I did with my MIL's stamps before she left today...I love this set...The background I did with the rough texture wheel in brown and then just swiped the white ink pad over it. I have been looking at the big roll of mesh (from Home depot, it's really spackle tape only $2.99 for a HUGE roll) so I used that and added this scrap of ribbon at the bottom. One thing I found out while doing this card is that you CAN use your blender pen with a pigment ink pad! Maybe I am the last person on earth to figure this out but I was psyched! That's how I got the white on the ivory paper! These little things make me so happy!
