DRS Designs Challenge #24

The newest challenge on the DRS Designs blog is Dazzling Diamond Dust. Now, anyone who knows me knows the love-hate relationsship I have with glitter. I LOVE to see it, but it HATES to work with me!
SO, I started off simple with the first card and since there was glitter all over anyway I went and made a second!

recipe: stamps- DRSS Plaid P641, Dragonfly
paper- only orange, pixie pink, white
ink- black, only orange, pixie pink, copic markers

accessories- ribbon, heat n stick powder, dazzling diamonds, circle punches

This next card I went really nutty with the glitter! I actually used a Palette glue pad (just newly opened) and just poured the dazzling diamonds on the whole panel! For the butterflies, I used the baby wipes technique and mixed cameo coral, wild wasabi, tempting turquoise, and barely banana to make the rainbow color.

recipe: stamps- DRS Designs Butterflies #F224 (I cut them apart),
Ladybug Poem G576 (just the sentiment on the bottom)
paper- groovy guava, white
ink- cameo coral, barely banana, wild wasabi, tempting turquoise, black
accessories- Palette glue pad, dazzling diamonds, sheer ribbon, baby wipes

Thanks for stopping by! I have some exciting news coming up soon....STAY TUNED!

Res-Q-Challenge #14 & Trashy Tuesday

We finally made it to RES-Q-Challenge #14! I can't believe we did so many! This week was brought to us by our good friend Robyn O!

We were to "hide" a bug on our card....Can you find mine???

recipe: stamps- Papertrey Ink Friends Till The End
paper- PTI white, black
Ink- palette noir, watercolor pencils, aqua pen
accessories- clear epoxy stickers

This card is for Jacqueline's Trashy Tuesday challenge to be inspired by the Japanese who apparently are the best recyclers in the world! Good for them! SO we had to use red and white and something Asian inspired! So even though I am totally UN-PC by using a Chinese fortune cookie and chinese text (which says, Hello Friend BTW) it's still Asian! Thanks for a great challenge as always Jacq!

recipe: stamps- Gina K Have a Cookie, Papertrey Ink mixed messages
paper- real red, PTI white
ink- palette noir, watercolor pencils, aqua pen

Trashy Tuesday #7!

Another Trashy Tuesday from Jacqueline! This time we were to make a card with a sports theme and use something that was in the garbage! I swear I never picked through the garbage to stamp so often as I do now! LOL SO I found a piece of bubble wrap in the garbage and added some acrylic paint to it for the background here. Easy Peasy...Makes a nice one for my Father in Law for Father's Day! Let's hope it gets there by Saturday!

recipe: stamps- Impression Obsession, Papertrey Ink
paper- Basic Grey Lime Rickey, creamy caramel, PTI white
ink- copic markers, palette noir
accessories- bubble wrap, acrylic paint

RES-Q-Challenge #13

Our dear friend Karolyn came up with a fabulous challenge for this week....use embossing to make raised "bumps" like bug bites! LOL I took the easy way out and used my favorite Cuttlebug embossing folder, swiss dots. I also used a new technique to make the flower here...you can get the directions HERE but basically you just cut out some haphazard circles, wrinkled them up good, sand and scratch them up and layer them together and VOILA! I even did them with tissue paper and they look great! Thanks for stopping by today...tomorrow join us for TRASHY TUESDAY! Later potatoes...

recipe: stamp- Papertrey Ink Mega Mixed Messages
paper- coredinations cardstock. blush blossom, really rust
ink- versafine black
accessories- tag punch, hemp, button, cuttlebug embossing folder swiss dots

Trashy Tuesday!

For the Trashy Tuesday challenge this week, Jacq asked us to make a card and to be inspired by Oscar the Grouch's Trash song. My kids both especially loved Oscar...might have something to do with their sloppy nature now! We were to use lines from the song for inspiration so I used 2.

"...here is some newspaper thirteen months old..." so I used some newspaper print DP that I crumpled and distressed...

"...a broken umbrella" well I had to go with this PTI set called Scattered Showers...I altered it a little but that is the beauty of acrylic stamps!

recipe: stamps- Papertrey Ink Scattered Showers
paper- 7 Gypsies DP, kraft, black
ink- black, white craft, bashful blue reinker (for spatters)
accessories- hemp, clear EP (on umbrella)

Thanks for stopping by!

Looks like Summer!

Well, the weather has me thinking about the beach...I can't wait to sit and soak up some sun! This was made for the Clean and Simple challenge this past week...we had to choose something from the Land's end catalog in the beach towel section. I chose a beach towel with a bright orange color blocked pattern. I am SO into orange right now!
Thanks for stopping by...I'll be back tomorrow for the next RES-Q-Challenge!

RES-Q-Challenge #11

This is for RES-Q-CHallenge #11 from JoAnn....going along with our theme "Gettin' Buggy" she challenged us to make a card with flowers and bigs. Of course I had to use my favorite Little Lady...and Im sure you've noticed that she is purple....well, I saw this story while looking up ladybug poems for my friend's daughter who is having a Ladybug themed party. Her daughter's favorite color is purple too, so I'll be using this for her birthday card! Here is the card....

recipe: stamps- Papertrey Ink Little Lady, Mega Mixed Messages
paper- orchid opulence, PTI white
ink- orchid opulence, barely banana, pretty in pink, certainly celery, black
accessories- ribbon, prima, rhinestone, brad

and here is the story:

The Legend Of The
Purple Ladybugs

It is said that deep in the Forest Tyrian,
not so far from the sea,

where indigo grows
and glows with deep purple
effervescence,

and flowers of purple and trees
of green and purple
meld with the sunshine and sea
breezes,

there lives a clan of Ladybird beetles
small and sweet and purple.

They dance and fly in joyous gaiety and
illuminous animation
on purple sunbeam mists.

And if you listen with all your heart,

you will hear them laugh and
sing and giggle
with purple pleasure, and purple
delight
and call to each other in
bubbling purple tones.

Few passers-by have bothered to walk the
purple path
through the Forest Tyrian.

Far fewer have ever set eyes on the
purple Ladybugs.

But one day, like the dolphins of the sea
and the whales of the oceans,
who also call to one another in
a harmonious timbre,
unknown to humans,

One day, the purple ladybugs will also
be known
as the communicative, higher
intelligence variety.

One day.

Have a GREAT Day!
