Here is another preview of the newest release from H & M stamps...I also did the color challenge today on SCS...use a neutral and one of the SU retiring in colors...
I used black, white and wild wasabi.
This is a square spring card for the Technique lovers challenge on Monday...I love this Martha Stewart stamp...it just describes my house perfectly! The cool brads were sent to me by my DSS secret sister.
So, it's the beginning of August, and I took my DD to her first cheerleading practice...and the boys were ALREADY practicing for football! That's just crazy to me! I STILL HAVE MORE SUMMER LEFT!
I'll be up in the mountains of NY state on Friday, my family has had a vacation home in Lake George for years, so this is it...the last hurrah of the summer! wahhhh! I hate winter! Anyway...we'll be leaving on Friday but I'll be sure to get the winner of the blog candy before I leave! Get your entries in now! on the post labeled PREVIEW & BLOG CANDY!
These are some previews of the new sets to be released on August 10 from H&M stamps...They are called Hoorah and Hoorah sentiments.
I used watercolor pencils to color this one...I didn't want to do the camo green again...I hope somewhere someone is wearing brownish fatigues and likes this!
For the BG on this one I used my newest favorite technique...polished stone! I used old olive, creamy caramel, gold and Ranger butterscotch. I think it made a rather cool camo style! And how is it possible that I actually HAD a camo print ribbon! YIKES!
For this I searched through my scraps and came up with this lovely paper from CTMH...and dontcha LOOOVVEEE grungeboard! The star is from my big ol' pack of grungeboard...I inked it with the leftover from the polished stone!
Since I have no family or friends in the military, I am sending these to someone on SCS who collects cards for the troops along with a pile of other cards. God Bless them all!
Don't forget about my BLOG CANDY on the previous post! You have until midnight on August 7th!
Happy Friday! Here is my first preview card for H&M stamps newest release! These sets are uber-patriotic, one is all images and the other is the matching sentiments. Great for scrapbook pages and cards for our troops!
Here is the official kick off from Heather:
"H&M Stamps has a new release coming up on August 10th, and today is the start of our Sneak Peaks. We are doing something different this month and are dedicating it to the military, thier families and the people who serve and protect us each and every day. We want to thank everyone who risk their lives every day so that we may live a better life, but we also want to remember those who gave their lives fighting for us, especially those during 9-11. The anniversary is coming up next month, and seeing how I was in the Army myself during this time and remember how it affected me and still affects me, I couldn't think of a better way to do a tribute. H&M Stamps is releasing only 2 new sets this month. For every customer who purchases both the sets available this month, we are donating $5.00 to the military, their families as well as other's all accross the US. Education should be a right and not a priveledge, so the $5.00 being donated will go to purchase back packs for education to those military families that can't afford it as well as Katrina victims and others who need supplies as well. Every little bit helps, so if you would like to donate, please send pay pal donations to email@example.com"
Oh, yeah....I did say BLOG CANDY, right?
As many of you know I am a Paramedic and my DH is a NYC Police Officer. We were both in Manhattan during 9-11 and worked very closely with all the other members of service and lots of reservists. All I can say is they are some of the bravest and most selfless people I have ever known. Everyone who lent a hand that day and the weeks that followed is on my HERO list!
All you have to do is comment on this post and let me know about a hero in your life.
You will be entered into a drawing for a set of stamps from H&M called
Celebrate The Day.
I will choose a winner with a very high tech system (my 5 y/o will pull the name from a hat) on August 8th. GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS!
