Preview and Blog Candy!

Happy Friday! Here is my first preview card for H&M stamps newest release! These sets are uber-patriotic, one is all images and the other is the matching sentiments. Great for scrapbook pages and cards for our troops!
Here is the official kick off from Heather:

"H&M Stamps has a new release coming up on August 10th, and today is the start of our Sneak Peaks. We are doing something different this month and are dedicating it to the military, thier families and the people who serve and protect us each and every day. We want to thank everyone who risk their lives every day so that we may live a better life, but we also want to remember those who gave their lives fighting for us, especially those during 9-11. The anniversary is coming up next month, and seeing how I was in the Army myself during this time and remember how it affected me and still affects me, I couldn't think of a better way to do a tribute. H&M Stamps is releasing only 2 new sets this month. For every customer who purchases both the sets available this month, we are donating $5.00 to the military, their families as well as other's all accross the US. Education should be a right and not a priveledge, so the $5.00 being donated will go to purchase back packs for education to those military families that can't afford it as well as Katrina victims and others who need supplies as well. Every little bit helps, so if you would like to donate, please send pay pal donations to handmstamps@hotmail.com"

Oh, yeah....I did say BLOG CANDY, right?

As many of you know I am a Paramedic and my DH is a NYC Police Officer. We were both in Manhattan during 9-11 and worked very closely with all the other members of service and lots of reservists. All I can say is they are some of the bravest and most selfless people I have ever known. Everyone who lent a hand that day and the weeks that followed is on my HERO list!

All you have to do is comment on this post and let me know about a hero in your life.
You will be entered into a drawing for a set of stamps from H&M called
 Celebrate The Day.

I will choose a winner with a very high tech system (my 5 y/o will pull the name from a hat) on August 8th. GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS!

Hey Missy! Love your card samples for the sneak peek! They are all very inspiring. I can only imagine how touched by the 9-11 tragedy you and DH must feel, having been there helping all of those people during that time. My hero is my 22-year old niece, Blair. She has accomplished more than three years of sobriety from drugs and alcohol. She went to hell and back during that process, and has come out of it such an incredibly inspiring young woman. She's now a straight-A college student, she often speaks at AA conventions, and she sponsors other young women in the hopes that they will know a drug free and sober life. Hope I win! Denise, Great card
The men and women of the armed services that fight for our freedoms everyday are my hero's - but on a more personal level, though they are young, my children are my hero's - they have endured some very difficult things over the last few years and have come out shining - they are my inspiration. THEY ARE MY HERO'S.

First off, I want to commend you - what a tribute to all of those brave men & women in our military, and kudos to everyone who saw firsthand the devastation of N.Y.C. after 9/11. It was horrifying to see it on the news - my heart still breaks for anyone who had to witness it firsthand.

My hero and the person I most look up to is my mother. She has always extended herself to help others in need. I remember when I was young and would watch her drive all of our elderly neighers to the grocery store every week. She would make 4 trips to the store, and then carry all of their groceries into their houses & put the food away for them. That is only one example of the many, many, many ways she gave of herself to help someone else, never once asking for payment or anything in return. We will be celebrating my dear mom's 80th birthday this Saturday with her. I'm so blessed to have had such a loving example & caring mother to look up to.

My hero is my mom. No mater what is going on, she is always there for us. Over the years she helped take care of many family members. She took care of her FIL that was dying from cancer, she turned the dinning room into a hospital room. She took care of my gramma when she was bed ridden. She also bought a house with an in-law suite so my grampa could move in with her. He just passed at the age of 98.

My hero is my 88 yr. old mother. I love her positive "I can Do it" attitude which carries over to 4 days of jazzersize a week plus walking around her neighborhood park daily. She takes care of herself by eating properly also. She is always there for all her friends and relatives.

Hey Denise,
I'm enjoying the tunes on your blog and I'm embarassed to say this is my first visit but I'm liking the look and the feel. My hero, hmmm, I have lots of them but I really am inspired by any woman who fights breast cancer or any cancer for that fact. I guess I was pretty impressed with Vicki, flutterbees, too.
From your buddy, Jean
